93 pts – Owen Bargreen

“The really good 2022 The Walls ‘Stanley Groovy’ Red Wine combines mostly Touriga Nacional, Syrah and Tinta Roriz. Chocolate and kirsch cordial combine with espresso bean on the nose. Dense and polished with a smooth texture, this is already neatly evolved stuff that is drinking marvelously in its vibrant youth. Drink 2025-2035.” -Owen Bargreen, March 2025

92 pts – Jeremy Young, International Wine Report

“The 2022 The Walls Stanley Groovy Vinho Tinto is an alluring and layered blend led by 25% Touriga Nacional, supported by 21% Tinta Roriz, 11% Souzao, 10% Petite Sirah, and smaller portions of Tinta Cão and other varieties. The nose bursts with dark cherry liqueur, macerated blackberries, roasted cacao nibs, and freshly ground coffee, accented by a hint of black licorice. On the palate, the wine is plush and richly textured, unfolding with waves of ripe blackberries, spiced plum, and a dusting of nutmeg. Silky yet structured tannins provide depth, while a lively core of acidity keeps the wine fresh and energetic.” -Jeremy Young, March 2025

92 pts – Paul Gregutt

“A blend of Portuguese and southern French varieties, fermented in concrete and stainless, then aged in neutral wood, this does have a Eurocentric palate, dry, lightly earthy, with tart red berries and savory accents. It’s accessible and balanced. Dry red Portuguese wines have become more and more popular, so a Washington version is quite an interesting addition to your tasting options for these grapes. The lightly astringent finish suggests pairing this with braised beef or lamb.” -Paul Gregutt, April 2025

91 pts – Clive Pursehouse, Decanter

“Aromas of dusty blackberries announce this unique blend heavily featuring Portuguese red varieties, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Souzao, Syrah, and a few bits and bobs. It’s light on its feet, with taut black fruits, savoury garrigue and dried lavender framed by white and black peppercorn at the finish. 2025 – 2031.” -Clive Pursehouse, February 2025
