Don’t Explain

CHARDONNAY | WASHINGTON STATE

100% Chardonnay

Chardonnay. A white grape made famous by the French. Later transplanted to California with polarizing results. Is it oaked? Is it stainless? Aged in concrete or in barrel? Yes. What it really is, is delicious. Don’t explain.

But for those that like a little explaining… This Chardonnay saw a combination of new French and neutral oak barrels, stainless drums, tanks, and concrete eggs during fermentation. The wine went through partial malolactic fermentation to allow for balanced acidity, adding verve and levity to this warmer climate Chardonnay.

90 pts – Eric Guido, Vinous

“More savory than sweet, the 2024 Chardonnay Don’t Explain mixes wet stones with musky apricot and spice. It is round and pliant, with ripe pit fruits and an air of chamomile swirling throughout. This cleans up well through the finish, leaving a mineral tinge and a hint of citrus. Drinking Window 2025 – 2029.” -Eric Guido, October 2025
